The Torribera Mediterranean Center is a joint initiative of the University of Barcelona and the Culinary Institute of America, created to promote the Mediterranean Diet as a model of health, sustainability, and culinary excellence. The center fosters scientific research, academic training, and global outreach, bridging scientific knowledge with culinary practice. Among its most prominent activities is the organization of the annual Tomorrow Tastes Mediterranean conferences, which bring together international experts to share innovations, scientific evidence, and experiences related to the Mediterranean lifestyle.
In the 2025 edition, held for the first time in Kalamata (Greece) —a city symbolic of the origins of the Mediterranean Diet—, Dr. Rosa M. Lamuela, leader of our research group, played a key role. Representing the Rector of the University of Barcelona, she inaugurated the event and delivered a lecture focused on the health benefits of olive oil, one of the main pillars of our research.
The conference was co-organized by the UB and the CIA, with the support of the Captain Vassilis and Carmen Constantakopoulos Foundation, the Hellenic Foundation, EAT, and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. This international gathering reinforces our group’s commitment to promoting a healthy, sustainable, and evidence-based lifestyle.
